| Giving to Social Sciences at UC Santa Cruz  Thank you for your interest in supporting the Division of Social Sciences and its programs. In these challenging budget times, gifts from private sources are more crucial than ever to the growth of the division’s programs.
With so many of our students graduating in debt and receiving financial assistance, there is a tremendous need for scholarships and aid. Because state appropriations do not fully fund our programs, support is necessary to maintain the level of academic excellence for which Social Sciences at UCSC is known. With 46% of UCSC undergraduate degrees awarded in Social Sciences majors, a gift to Social Sciences makes an important contribution to the vitality of UCSC and the development of society’s future leaders. The Development Office for the Division of Social Sciences partners with alumni and friends of the Social Sciences to foster private philanthropy and to promote community awareness, highlighting special achievements of the faculty and departments.
