Chancellor's "Super" Fellowships

The Dean recently submitted nominations for eight candidates for the 2011-2012 Chancellor's Fellowship competition. Each of our Ph.D. granting departments put forward excellent, top-notch candidates.

Divisional Grant Awards

There are no new Divisional Grant Awards Opportunities at this time. Graduate Students are invited to review and apply for Fellowships and Scholarships.

The Distinguished Social Sciences Alumni Award and the Distinguished Social Sciences Emeriti Faculty Award

Honoring the special accomplishments of the division’s most outstanding alumni and emeriti faculty these awards offer the highest honors bestowed by the Social Sciences Division. Members of Division's Board of Councilors select the winners of these two awards.

Nominations for 2012-2013 will be accepted until Wednesday, October 24, 2012.

The Golden Apple Teaching Award

Recognizes outstanding teaching in our division.

Nominations for the 2011-2012 award will be accepted until Wednesday, May 9, 2012.

The Martin M. Chemers Award for Outstanding Research

Recognizes a senior faculty member in the division whose research has had a substantial cumulative impact on her or his discipline. The awardee will have a solid national and international reputation in her or his field. 

Nominations for the 2011-2012 award will be accepted until Tuesday, May 8, 2012.

The Outstanding Staff Recognition Award

Honors and recognizes outstanding service to both the division and the university by division staff members who have distinguished their performance within and beyond the job description, personal interaction, initiative and/or creativity, or unique one-time contribution. The 2011-2012 nomination cycle is now closed.

2012-2013 award nominations will be accepted until Wednesday, April 24, 2013.
