Climate Science & Policy Conference 2017

The Divisions of Physical & Biological Sciences and Social Sciences hosted the fourth annual Climate Science and Policy Conference on February 24 and 25, 2017. The two day event featured top climate scientists and policy experts from across the country in a series of talks and panel discussions.

The overarching theme was "Changing Climate: Acting Now to Secure a Sustainable Future.Panels focused on engineering change, motivation change, and communicating change.

The opening keynote address was delivered by Veerabhadran Ramanathan, a distinguished professor of climate sciences at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego. He advises Governor Jerry Brown, Pope Francis, and his Holiness the Dalai Lama on climate change mitigation.

The Fred Keeley lecture was delivered by Fred Keeley, former California State Assembly Member and current faculty member at the Panetta Institute for Public Policy.
