Title:            Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program: Short Term Projects
Program:        The Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad (GPA) Program supports overseas projects in training, research, and curriculum development in modern foreign languages and area studies for groups of teachers, students, and faculty engaged in a common endeavor. Short-term projects may include seminars, curriculum development, or group research or study. Long-term projects support advanced overseas intensive language projects, which give advanced language students the opportunity to study languages overseas.

Title:            Organic Transitions Program (ORG)
Program:        The overall goal of the ORG is to support the development and implementation of research, extension and higher education programs to improve the competitiveness of organic livestock and crop producers, as well as those who are adopting organic practices. In FY 2012, ORG will focus on environmental services provided by organic farming systems that support soil conservation and contribute to climate change mitigation. Practices and systems to be addressed include those associated with organic crops, organic animal production (including dairy), and organic systems integrating plant and animal production.

Title:            W.E.B. DuBois Fellowship for Research in Race, Gender, Culture and Crime FY2012
Program:        NIJ seeks proposals for funding under the W.E.B. Du Bois Fellowship for Research in Race, Gender, Culture, and Crime FY 2012. The Du Bois Fellowship Program seeks to advance knowledge regarding the confluence of crime, justice, and culture in various societal contexts. The Fellowship places particular emphasis on crime, violence, and the administration of justice in diverse cultural contexts within the United States.

UC/ACCORD is interested in increasing the number of graduate students and faculty within the UC system who are working in areas that inform its goals. It also supports scholars who have been working in this area for whom additional funding can support a better connection with UC/ACCORD activities.

Title:            Global WISE Prize
Program:        Nominations of individuals or groups are invited from anywhere in the world for the Qatar Foundation's WISE (World Innovation Summit for Education) Prize for Education. Now in its second year, the annual global prize is designed to recognize world-class contributors to education at a level similar to that of other major prizes for science, literature, peace, or economics. The WISE Prize laureate will receive $500,000 and a gold medal.

Title:            2012 E2A Research Challenge: “The Road from Conflict to Recovery”
Program:        The Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) is pleased to announce the 2012 E2A Research Challenge, organized as part of CEGA’s annual “Evidence to Action” symposium.

CEGA is inviting pilot proposals from eligible doctoral students for research on violence, corruption, and/or community development in low- and middle-income countries. Priority will be given to studies conducted in conflict-affected countries or settings. The program, supported by the Weiss Family Fund, will award grants of $5,000 to $15,000 to successful applicants. Up to four grants will be awarded under this call, depending on the quality of submissions.
