Title:                            Small Business Technology Transfer Program Phase I
Program:                     The Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program stimulates technological innovation in the private sector by strengthening the role of small business concerns in meeting Federal research and development needs, increasing the commercial application of federally supported research results, and fostering and encouraging participation by socially and economically disadvantaged and women-owned small businesses. The STTR Program requires researchers at universities and other non-profit research institutions to play a significant intellectual role in the conduct of each STTR project. These researchers, by joining forces with a small company, can spin-off their commercially promising ideas while they remain primarily employed at the research institution. This STTR Phase I solicitation aims at encouraging the commercialization of previously NSF-funded fundamental research (NSF funding lineage).  It is highly desirable that the core innovation described in the submitted proposals can in some manner be linked to fundamental research funded by the NSF. Please note: It is NOT required that investigators of the original NSF-funded fundamental research be directly affiliated with the proposed STTR project or personnel. The proposals submitted should fall into one the four broad topic areas:
Biological and Chemical Technologies (BC)
Education Applications (EA)
Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies (EI)
Nanotechnology, Advanced Materials, and Manufacturing (NM)

Title:                            Social Science Research Grant Program
Program:                     The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is calling for proposals for its 2014 Social Science Research Program. One task of WADA's Education Committee is to identify relevant areas of social science research in the field of anti-doping and encourage research to obtain information which will inform more efficient doping prevention strategies. As part of its strategic objectives, WADA has identified both education and research as priorities. It is essential that anti-doping education programs and initiatives be based on scientific knowledge and evidence. For the 2014 Program, WADA's Education Committee has identified the following research categories: 1. Increasing knowledge of causes of doping behavior or attitudes about doping and the factors that influence these behaviors or attitudes 2. Developing and evaluating anti-doping intervention 3. Improving social science research on doping prevention (design and validation of measurement tools, testing behavioral models, specific cultural or regional perspectives, cross cultural comparisons) 4. Increasing knowledge in the fields of anti-doping management, economics and law.
