Through support from the Institute for Social Transformation, faculty and students in New Gen Learning collaborate to develop interdisciplinary research that identifies the cultural strengths of learning by children and students from historically underserved populations. We find ways to leverage those strengths in formal and informal settings for learning. We also apply our insights through additional collaborations and research with the Education Department.
Donations enable additional graduate student fellowships, an essential part of New Gen Learning. Through fellowships, graduate student researchers across the disciplines have the opportunity to collaborate on studies that promote inclusive learning. Doctoral student fellows will also expand their own research skills and perspectives, receive mentorship from faculty, and contribute to current discussions on education, learning, and equity.
