Title:                            Cyber-Enabled Sustainability Science and Engineering (CyberSEES)
Program:                    The Cyber-Enabled Sustainability Science and Engineering (CyberSEES) program aims to advance interdisciplinary research in which the science and engineering of sustainability are enabled by new advances in computing, and where computational innovation is grounded in the context of sustainability problems. The CyberSEES program is one component of the National Science Foundation's Science, Engineering, and Education for Sustainability (SEES) activities, a foundation-wide effort aimed at addressing the challenge of sustainability through support for interdisciplinary research and education. In the SEES context, a sustainable world is one where human needs are met equitably without harm to the environment or sacrificing the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

Title:                            America’s Historical and Cultural Organizations
Program:                    America’s Historical and Cultural Organizations grants provide support for museums, libraries, historic places, and other organizations that produce public programs in the humanities. Grants support the following formats:• exhibitions at museums, libraries, and other venues;• interpretations of historic places, sites, or regions;• book/film discussion programs; living history presentations; other face-to-face programs at libraries, community centers, and other public venues; and• interpretive websites. Types of America’s Historical and Cultural Organizations awards Planning grants support the early stages of project development, including consultation with scholars, refinement of humanities themes, preliminary design, and audience evaluation. Implementation grants support final scholarly research and consultation, design development, production, and installation of a project for presentation to the public. Title:                            Career Development Grants
Program:                    Career Development Grants provide assistance to women who, through additional higher education, technical training, or participation in professional development institutes, are making career changes, seeking to advance in current careers, or re-entering the workforce. Primary consideration is given to women of color, women pursuing credentials in nontraditional fields, and women who do not currently hold an advanced degree.

Grants provide support for coursework toward degree programs other than a Ph.D., or for specialized training in technical or professional fields.

All courses of study must occur at a regionally accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States or at a technical school that is fully licensed and/or accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants must reside within the United States during the grant period.

Distance learning programs will be funded only if they are conducted through an accredited institution appearing on the U.S. Department of Education's list of approved online/distance learning programs. Final decisions about what constitutes distance learning under these grants will be made by AAUW.

Title:                            Kennan Institute Summer Research Scholarships
Program:                    Scholars who conduct research in the social sciences or humanities focusing on the former Soviet Union (excluding the Baltic States), and who demonstrate a particular need to utilize the library, archival, and other specialized resources of the Washington, D.C. area can apply.  (NOTE: additional fellowships at the Wilson Center exist for work in other areas; see the link.) The summer grants must be used between May-September, and grant applicants are required to hold an MA degree or higher.  The Summer Research Scholarships will provide a stipend of $6400 for 62 days ($103.22/day).  The Kennan Institute provides work space and research assistant for each Summer Scholar.  Travel and accommodation expenses are not directly covered by this grant.

Title:                            Science to Achieve Results (STAR) Fellowships for Graduate Environmental Study
Program:                    The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as part of its Science to Achieve Results (STAR) program, is offering Graduate Fellowships for master’s and doctoral level students in environmental fields of study. The deadline for submission of applications is November 15, 2012 at 11:59:59 PM. Subject to availability of funding and other applicable considerations, the Agency plans to award approximately 80 new fellowships in the late summer of 2013. Master's level students may receive support for a maximum of two years. Doctoral students may be supported for a maximum of three years, usable over a period of five years. The fellowship program provides up to $42,000 per year of support per fellowship. This solicitation does not provide the opportunity for the submission of applications for projects that involve human subjects research. Human subjects research supported by the EPA is governed by EPA Regulation 40 CFR Part 26 (Protection of Human Subjects). Applications proposing human subjects research will not be considered for funding and will be deemed ineligible.
