With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? The economic department was a great fit, and the campus is a great environment.
What is your field of focus? Environmental economics.
What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? Either a non-governmental organization or academic position working on policy-oriented research into utility and transportation policy.
What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? My most memorable moment was representing the department and attending a week-long intensive summer session at UC Berkeley on energy and environmental economics. I made lifelong academic connections shared the research this award recognizes.
How will this scholarship impact your academic life/research? This scholarship comes at a critical time when I have had many unexpected expenses, and it will help ensure that I can continue to focus on research and afford upgrades to my computer necessary for working on my research.
