With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? It’s local, has a beautiful campus and amazing anthro department.

What is your field of focus? Medical Anthropology

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? I’ll be heading to grad school!

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? This award, as it represents the pinnacle of my educational accomplishments thus far. This started out as a
passion project and I’m so honored to have it recognized. It shows how far I’ve come.

What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa Cruz? Dive right in! Don’t wait for an invitation. Also, make as many connections as you can. Go to office hours!!

How will this scholarship impact your academic life /research? I’m planning to continue this work in grad school and hopefully this will open the doors to do just that.
