With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? UCSC provides a unique opportunity to obtain a Master’s in Education and a Preliminary Teaching Credential within an accelerated program the consists of 13 intensive months of instruction and student teaching practicum.

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? I hope to serve as a primary education teacher within my local community of Santa Cruz.

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? The greatest moment in my education thus far while attending UCSC is the incredible instruction I have received from Johnnie Wilson. His respect and rapport for his students is seen in his instruction and communication. The other highlight of my time spent here at UCSC is the incredible friendships I have made with the other multiple subject cohort members.

How will this scholarship/award impact your academic life/research? This scholarship will allow me to complete my dream in becoming an educator and assist me in this financial areas that I would have had to seek out student loans. Instead, I am able to cover almost all of the cost of this final quarter of my Master’s education because of the help and financial support I am receiving as a result of being awarded this scholarship.
