Where do you call home? My childhood hometown, East Palo Alto.

With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? After visiting the campus, I fell in love with its nature, friendly environment, and
openness.

What is your field of focus? Social justice

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? I will embark on a journey to further expand my learning experiences as a community health worker. After a year, I plan to go for my Masters Degree in Social Work.

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? Participating in campus protests always gave me a feeling of belongingness.

What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa
Cruz? Explore and enjoy every chance you get! Take what you learn here
everywhere you go!

How will this scholarship impact your academic life /research? It will allow me to continue pursing my goals and help me make a change in the world. It serves as a reminder that there are people out there who believe in my
dreams too.
