With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? UC Santa Cruz gave me the best financial aid option, and I valued the diversity of this university. In addition, the location is optimal because I’m close to my family and experience the natural beauty of this campus and city.

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? Once I graduate, my goal is to obtain a CPA license and to get job at an accounting firm. From there, I plan to expand outside of accounting to other areas by gaining more knowledge about finance andinvestments.

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? During my first night of living in the student dorms, I realized I had entered the next stage of my life to becoming a more independent individual.

What does this scholarship/award mean to you? This scholarship gives me more confidence in my academic abilities. Being able to get this reward for the hard work I put into my studies encourages me to achieve and maintain academic excellence. I am also relieved that this scholarship lessens the financial burden on my family. In addition, this scholarship gives me an opportunity to increase my chances of landing future internships.
