What year do you expect to graduate? I expect to graduate in 2023.

Where do you call home? I was born and raised in San Francisco.

With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? I chose UCSC due to their great FDM program and the beautiful campus, full of nature and natural inhabitants. Upon visiting, the environment was extremely refreshing. It definitely did not disappoint!

What is your field of focus? My field of focus is Economics, as well as Film and Digital Media.

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? I hope to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, whether it is being a film editor or a marketer for films.

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? The most memorable moments that stand out are the incredible walks and hikes with friends that I experienced on campus. Even the walks between classes are able to clear my mind and relieve stress.

What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa Cruz? My advice for incoming students is don’t be afraid to take advantage of the campus’s nature and environment. This is great for mindfulness. Focusing on studies is important, but having time to yourself mentally will contribute to your studies immensely.

How will this scholarship impact your academic life /research? This scholarship will allow me to pursue further education in the economic field. I have been contemplating developing my economics major into a business or accounting degree. Due to my double major, this has been a difficult decision due to financial concerns of continuing school after my undergraduate degree.
