What Award/ Scholarship did you receive?  I received the Sociology of Race, Class, and Gender Senior Thesis Award

When do you expect to graduate? I graduated in 2021 and was part of the first slug crossing!

Where do you call home? I currently reside in Los Angeles, CA

With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? UC Santa Cruz stood out to me because of its rigorous coursework, beautiful scenery and of course, being the most diverse UC Campus.

What is your field of focus? My field of focus is Sociology with emphasis on immigration, social stratification, CRT, and classical theory.

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? Right now I am preparing to apply to grad school in order to enter a Sociology PhD program.

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? One memorable moment I had as a student at UCSC would be the COLA protests, because I believe that students were standing up for fair wages and seeing the solidarity that came from many different departments was beautiful.

What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa Cruz? It may seem cliche, but you learn from your mistakes, don’t be afraid to ask for help and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Prioritize and you will be successful.

How will this scholarship impact your academic life /research? This scholarship is going to enhance my CV/Resume for my graduate school applications which will make me a more competitive applicant.
