What Award/ Scholarship did you receive? I received the 2022-2023 Dean’s Undergraduate Award.

What year do you expect to graduate? I’ll be graduating Spring of 2023.

Where do you call home? Santa Cruz is my home!

With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? I chose UCSC for its surrounding redwood forests and its Cognitive Science program.

What is your field of focus? I’m interested in social and affective cognition, or how we process emotional and social information. 

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? I hope to be a full time Research Assistant after I graduate.

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? I remember witnessing a wicked lightning storm one fall while in Pogonip, it was both scary and fascinating.

What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa Cruz? I would advise new students to spend as much time outside as possible and to really explore the areas around campus.

How will this scholarship impact your academic life /research? This scholarship will help me greatly as I apply to graduate programs.
