What year do you expect to graduate? I expect to graduate in 2024.
Where do you call home? I am from East Bay in a town called San Lorenzo.
With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? UCSC stood out to me because of the beautiful redwood trees that surround our beautiful campus. As well as the numerous communities on campus such as EOP.
What is your field of focus? My field of focus is in Psychology and Education, Democracy, and Justice
What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? Once I graduate from UC Santa Cruz, I hope to become a middle school or high school counselor serving primarily in underrepresented communities.
What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? One memorable moment that stood out to me here at UCSC, is having the opportunity to be a mentor for the EOP Bridge Program. Bridge helped me make many memories and created strong friendships.
What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa Cruz? One piece of advice for incoming students here at UCSC is to tackle each challenge one step at a time.
How will this scholarship impact your academic life /research? Opportunities such as the Walsh Family scholarship are highly important to help students, such as myself, feel inspired and have the support in continuing our education here on campus. This support that I am receiving will allow me to one day support other students in the near future.
