With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out?
UC Santa Cruz stood out to me because of its beautiful campus, the importance it places on research-based learning, and the surrounding ecosystem of redwood forests, mountains, and coastal beaches.
What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz?
After I graduate, I plan on attending San Francisco State University next Fall to pursue a Master’s degree in Museum Studies. My goal is to pursue a career in museum curation.
What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here?
A memorable moment as an undergraduate student here has certainly been being the recipient of this award. This is the first scholarship that I have been granted and I feel incredibly fortunate for the award.
How will this scholarship/award impact your academic life/research?
This scholarship has an immense impact on my academic life and research because it lightens my financial burdens greatly, allowing me to place more of my focus on schoolwork instead of trying to make enough money from my two jobs to support myself. This award gives me more free time to focus on academia rather than worrying if I have worked enough hours in the week to have a substantial paycheck.
