With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? Being able to live in the forest and view the ocean, it's the best of both worlds. Also, the vibrant student body and passionate faculty.

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? I hope to participate in a fellowship program, or begin working at CalEPA.

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? Participating in the UCDC program. Interning at the EPA's Office of Environmental Justice was an amazing experience that provided me a deeper understanding of what it is like to work at the federal government. I established connections with hardworking, dedicated employees and I know I'll be keeping in touch with them throughout life.

What does this scholarship/award mean to you? I feel honored to receive this award and I am even more inspired to fulfill the goals I have established for myself. It is a rewarding feeling to know that people believe in my aspirations and want to support me in achieving my dreams.
