With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? UC Santa Cruz stood out because of its top-notch education and beautiful surroundings. Because I’ve always had a desire to study economics on a global scale, the college and major fitted perfectly with what I wanted.
What is your field of focus? I studied Global Economics. I specialized in Spanish studies, learning Spanish and taking culture classes about Spain.
What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? I hope to move back to Spain, where I will continue to actively search for a job in finance.
What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? My most memorable moment as a student was actually abroad. It was the moment I stepped into the town of Cádiz and knew that my adventures had finally brought me to a new and exciting land.
What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa Cruz? I would recommend that incoming students do the most to be involved. Whether that be in clubs, research, or sports it is important.
How will this scholarship/award impact your academic life/research? This scholarship has changed my life. It has opened me up to the broad world that exists, and I am a better person for it. It has let me make impactful connections abroad, some of which are helping me find finance jobs in Spain!
