With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? I came to UC Santa Cruz because of the strong faculty and resource in experimental economics and I plan to pursue my research career after graduation.
What is your field of focus? Coordination and cooperation in the laboratory environment.
How will this scholarship impact your academic life /research? This award means a lot to me. By awarding me the Eileen Brooks Award, you have lightened my financial burden in running laboratory experiments. The award also encourages me to continue my research career as it is an important recognition I received in my Ph.D. life.
For research awards, please include a one paragraph description of your research written for a general audience. The research topic I am working on “Coordination games in the continuous time” studies how human subjects learn and coordinate their behaviors in a laboratory environment. I focus on two typical coordination games in game theory: the stag hunt and the battle of the sexes and compare subjects’ strategic choices both in continuous time when the experiments move in real time and in discrete time when the experiments move round by round.
