With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? I choose to attend UCSC since the university sends me a wonder certificate of my admission, the campus's inclusive, and the location in the majestic forest.
What is your field of focus? Anthropology
What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? I hope to obtain strong position with in career choice or continuing my education.
What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? The time a housemate and I used a jump bike to go home from town down Santa Cruz. I had never been on a jump but it was harder than I thought to bike up the hill towards the campus. While I peddled up the hill, it was apparent that it was of a physiological exercise. I was exhausted though I continued to coach myself, gaining self-confidence to make it to the top.
What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa Cruz? Prepare for the future through your involvement.
How will this scholarship impact your academic life /research? The Dr. Midori Arima Scholarship in Anthropology will assist me during the next quarter and reduce pressure from my financial insecurities.
