With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? Part of my extended family lives in Santa Cruz, my cousin graduated from UC Santa Cruz and she only had good things to say. The diversity of UC Santa Cruz is also something that stood out to me.

What is your field of focus? Economics

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? I hope to go to get a job in my field of study as well as pursue the possibility of going to law school.

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? One memorable moment that stands out to me is participating in all the activities as a transfer student and meeting a lot of new people that I lived with for the year.

What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa Cruz? One piece of advice I would give to incoming students is to put yourself out there and get involved on campus, whether its through clubs or organizations, your involvement will enrich your time at UC Santa Cruz as well as potentially open previously closed doors in the future.

How will this scholarship impact your academic life/research? This scholarship will help reduce the stress surrounding my living situation and allow me to focus on my class work more diligently.
