With all of the choices for college, what made UC Santa Cruz stand out? I was attracted to the unique intellectual culture of UC Santa Cruz and the town itself.

What is your field of focus? Economics and Math

What do you hope to do once you graduate from UC Santa Cruz? Either go into economics or journalism, and move to a great city.

What is one memorable moment that stands out for you as a student here? The amazing community that I found at the UCSC Bike Coop (as a volunteer) and the Cowell/Stevenson Dining Hall (as a student worker).

What is your one piece of advice for incoming students about life at UC Santa Cruz? Take as wide a swath of classes as possible and see what’s out there.

How will this scholarship impact your academic life /research? This scholarship has encouraged me to keep on doing academic research.
